Job Description

Applications are now open for factory labourers at our client’s peanut processing factory located in Kingaroy, Qld.

This is a challenging and fast paced environment, where you play an integral role in ensuring all processes and activities are undertaken efficiently, safely and performed with a high attention to detail.

The role sees you sorting and packaging products to the highest standard, while consistently adhering to strict quality control and a clean and safe work environment. Dependent on the type of role, some of these jobs will also counts towards 88 days of regional work for Visa holders.

You are required to work approximately 7.6 hours per day and 38 hour per week with some weekend and night shift work. Pay rates start at $25.79 for a day shift, increasing to $29.02 for early morning, $29.66 for afternoon and $30.33 for night shift.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Smooth and safe operation of fixed plant machinery
  • Sorting and packaging to the highest standard
  • Weighbridge operation
  • Completing relevant paperwork and data entry
  • Sanitisation duties
  • Adhering to quality control and industrial standards
  • Safe and efficient operation of forklift
  • Other labouring duties as requested
  • Report machinery maintenance and GMP deficiencies
  • Interdepartmental communication

Your Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in a nut processing environment (macadamias, walnuts, almonds, peanuts etc). You will need to be proactive and a keen team player, who is flexible, reliable and has a ‘can do’ attitude.

To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar environment
  • Previous labouring experience is preferred
  • Professional references to support the above
  • Current forklift licence (highly regarded)
  • Flexible with requested tasks
  • Willing to work alternate hours if required
  • Committed to the entire season (approx. three months)
  • Strong level of English
  • Able to work independently, unsupervised and as a team
  • Own transport
