A vacant position is available for a Caretaking Couple to work in a busy outback Queensland caravan park during the peak tourist season April - October.

The town is located 1000km from Brisbane. The park has 48 van sites, 3 Cabins, 3 Units and a holiday house accommodation nearby. There are no permanent residents, tourists only.

Evenings are a highlight as our entertainers perform from 5pm for happy hour, whilst you serve up (pre-ordered) dinners from a small home cooked menu board. After dinner service finishes at 7pm, it’s always fun socializing with the guests in the camp kitchen to ensure they enjoy their stay. Musicians are separate from the business operations and arrangements are in place for various artists to perform during the season.

The park has a strong customer focus and the successful couple will be required to maintain our excellent and professional customer service levels across the business.

The successful applicants will also have a strong work ethic, be physically fit and be hands on and all-rounders to ensure the cleaning and grounds maintenance is delivered to a high standard. The successful applicants must have references and a car licence. If you know how to back a caravan you may also save a few guests marriages so that would be handy!

This is a full-time position on a 3 week on, 3 weeks off roster with on-call duties and includes work on weekends and public holidays during the 3 week shifts.

The successful candidates will be offered a weekly rate package which includes onsite powered campsite to set up your own caravan or camper, free WIFI & Dinner. Pay can be arranged via ABN invoices or employee and superannuation agreements.

The park is pet friendly, and your pets are welcome too, there is a fully enclosed and lockable yard attached to the office and kitchen which is the perfect secure sleeping spot for pets.

To be considered for this role you will be able to perform all of the below tasks;

  • High level of friendly customer service and communication
  • Assisting cleaning staff when required of cleaning of cabins, units and amenities
  • Ability to carry out general building and grounds repairs and maintenance
  • Maintenance, watering and tidying of grounds and gardens
  • Provide tourist information to our visiting guests
  • Daily cabin and unit laundry
  • Stock ordering and restock fridges, ice creams, drinks, brochures
  • Making Barista Coffee
  • Preparing dinners for guests from pre-ordered meals, served each evening between 5.30 – 7pm.
  • Checking guests in and assisting guests to sites

The position is supported by the owners. Tourism industry experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.

This role will be rotating with another couple of Managers, so you can travel home or explore outback QLD on your weeks off.

Ideally, we propose the below roster, but can make allowances for minimal date changes if required.

SHIFT 3 | 2ND AUG – 22ND AUG
SHIFT 4 | 13th SEPT – 30th SEPT
